After a long day at the Great Wall (it's so freaking long and hilly), I took this picture from my hammock resting spot. The wall was OK, mostly rebuilt, but some parts are totally overgrown and decayed, which makes you feel much more like the intrepid Western Adventurer I dreamt about as a kid.

I was originally opposed to the idea that you "just couldn't come to China without seeing the Great Wall," assuming that it would be just an over-hyped touristy event. Mao Zedong even alleged that "He who doesn't reach the Great Wall is not a hero." That said, it's still fun for playing Mongols and Hans.
Just got back from my other trip, nothing yet on physics, but somebody else wants to pay be $10/hr to tutor Spanish. More soon.
